What do Meegos, Smyths and Solana have in common? They are all part of the NFT revolution happening on the Solana blockchain, one of the fastest and most efficient in the world. The Meegos are a collection of 10,000 unique and adorable NFTs representing different creatures with personalities and characteristics of their own. They were launched on August 24 and caused a furor among NFT collectors and fans, selling out within hours and reaching the top of the NFT market rankings the next day.
The Meegos are the brainchild of Blocksmith Labs, a web3 B2B SaaS company dedicated to creating innovative products around the NFT lifecycle. Its Atlas platform facilitates access and interaction with Solana-based NFT projects, offering features such as discovery, participation, notifications and reporting. Blocksmith Labs is also the creator of the Smyths, another successful collection of 4,444 NFTs inspired by famous and popular characters.
But the Meegos are not only supported by the Blocksmith Labs community, but also by several influencers in the NFT world. These include Big Brain SOL, a web gaming investor and advisor3; Sting Tensor, the COO of Tensor, the leading NFT marketplace in Solana; and other well-known names in the crypto space. In addition, Tensor is offering a special incentive for those who trade Meegos: 1.25 TNSR points for people who bid and list the collection over the next week.
Meegos have proven to be a highly demanded and valued NFT collection. Its current minimum price is 6,763 SOL, about $138. Its trade volume since launch exceeds 20,000 SOL.
Meegos are yet another example of how Solana is becoming a leading platform for NFTs, thanks to its speed, scalability and low cost. They also show how influencer marketing is a key strategy for driving recognition and popularity for NFT projects. So did the Bored Ape Yacht Club, an NFT collection made famous by its partnerships with celebrities such as Justin Bieber and Madonna.
