The explosion of NFTs in the alcoholic beverage industry is already a reality. Brands like Johnnie Walker, Hennessy, and BlockBar have joined the NFT trend by launching collections of crypto art.
Gary Vaynerchuk, also known as Gary Vee, has chosen the Scottish whisky brand Johnnie Walker as a partner for his new and prestigious NFT collection. The collection features 10,300 hand-drawn images of animals, humans, words, and art, and is graded at different levels of rarity. Additionally, Johnnie Walker has also partnered with BlockBar and Vayner3 to launch an exclusive collection of "ghost" whisky in NFT, featuring redeemable Blue Label Ghost and Rare Port Dundas bottles and various additional utilities for owners.
Another alcoholic beverage brand that is jumping on the NFT trend is Hennessy, which has launched its own limited edition collection. The collection features a selection of digital artworks created by contemporary artist Liu Wei and was launched in collaboration with BlockBar.
Alcoholic beverage brands are not only limiting themselves to launching NFT collections, but they are also participating in NFT-focused events, such as VeeCon, a conference organized by Gary Vee's VaynerNFT, in which Johnnie Walker will also participate. Additionally, Johnnie Walker has shown its support for IFundWomen by granting grants to women-owned businesses.
With these collaborations, leading alcoholic beverage brands such as Johnnie Walker, Hennessy, and BlockBar demonstrate that they are willing to explore new ways of interacting with their audience and getting closer to emerging market trends.
