Dior, the prestigious French luxury fashion house, surprises us once again with its innovation by announcing the exciting launch of a new collection of sneakers backed by NFT. Under the artistic vision of the brand's creative director, Kim Jones, the extraordinary "B33" sneakers will be part of Dior's highly anticipated Fall 2023 men's collection.
An exciting tweet posted by the brand's official Twitter account revealed that these exquisite creations are equipped with "encrypted keys," giving lucky owners access to a "secure platform" and exclusive services. Importantly, one of the seven stunning styles in this collection will include a valuable non-fungible token. The other six soon-to-be-released designs will be equipped with near-field communication chips, but will not feature the digital jewel of an NFT.
Although we currently have little information about this fascinating collection, Dior shared in a tweet that the first design to be released online is the stunning "Dior Oblique " model in turquoise mohair and brown suede, known as "B33". Rumor has it that only 470 pairs of this captivating creation will be released, further increasing its exclusivity and desirability among fashion lovers. Mark your calendar for July 6, as that will be the day these fabulous sneakers will make their appearance in the market.
"Each pair of these sneakers is linked to its own Digital Twin, a unique and secure digital creation on the Ethereum blockchain, for the first time in the history of Maison Dior," this is how this wonderful product is described on the brand's official website. One detail that we cannot overlook is that those who wish to receive notifications about the launch can register on the Dior website. In addition, U.S.-based customers have the option to receive an alert by clicking "Reminder" on their iOS devices.
Interestingly, in its social media promotions, Dior has chosen not to use terms such as "NFT," "blockchain" or "web3." This could mean that the brand is looking to steer clear of potential fraudulent projects that have become widespread in the NFT space, or it is simply entering the web3 world in a discreet and cautious manner.
Dior is not the only fashion brand to venture into the launch of sneakers backed by non-fungible tokens. In June this year, Adidas Originals partnered with the talented FEWOCiOUS to develop striking NFT-backed physical sneakers equipped with NFC chips. Similarly, Puma teamed up with NBA star LaMelo Ball and Gutter Cat Gang to launch their own NFT sneakers, proving that this trend has become a phenomenon in the fashion industry.
With Dior at the forefront of innovation and elegance, we can expect this exciting collection of NFT-backed sneakers to surprise and delight us with its exquisite fusion of fashion and technology. Stay tuned for the previews and make sure you don't miss out on the opportunity to own a piece of art on your feet.
