Sony and Astar Network create exciting incubation program to drive Web3 forward

Sony Network Communications has taken an exciting step into the future by partnering with Astar Network in an incubation program designed to develop innovative Web3 projects. This valuable collaboration aims to foster cutting-edge use cases within the Web3 space, leveraging the combined knowledge and resources of both companies.

The incubation program, which will run for three months, promises to be an unmissable opportunity for entrepreneurs and developers from around the world. With applications open from February 17, between 10 and 15 projects will be selected to participate in this unique experience. Starlate Labs will also play a key role in coordinating the incubation program.

Sota Watanabe, CEO of Startale Labs and Astar Network, expressed his enthusiasm: "We are pleased to launch this Web3 incubation program together with Sony Network Communications, a leading Sony Group company that has been involved in the NFT sector and other Web3 initiatives. We look forward to sharing our knowledge and resources to add value to selected participants and create new use cases and projects."

This is not Sony's first foray into the exciting world of Web 3.0 and blockchain technology. In late 2022, Sony Interactive Entertainment disclosed a patent that suggested its interest in exploring the potential of NFTs and blockchain technology applied to video games. In addition, in April last year, Sony established Sony Network Communications, a division of the company focused on NFT-related consulting and development.

The incubation program will not only provide access to participants from around the world, but will also offer signing sessions with leading venture capitalists and Web 3 companies. In addition, participants will benefit from business and technology strategy sessions. Arriving in mid-June, a demo day will be held in Japan during Japan Blockchain Week.

Astar Network assures that participants will have a wide range of benefits, including:

- Direct connections and feedback from leading Web 3.0 companies, such as Web3 Foundation and Alchemy, plus free access to briefings.

- Access to resources from both Sony Network Communications and Astar, along with technical support and financial assistance. The most promising companies will also have the opportunity to receive investment from Sony Network Communications.

- Demonstrations with Sony Network Communications and product growth support from the Astar team.
